Starting from Sticks
I ordered willow cuttings from a couple different places; stuck them in jars of water as soon as they arrived. Potted them up as soon as nice roots appeared. These pots will sit inside the greenhouse until freezing weather has passed . Placed them in some sterile potting mix (no soil) and set them next to some elderberry cuttings. Behind these pots you will see the other sticks I planted up last fall. They were very sad looking this winter but all are showing signs of life again. These will be transplanted into the garden this spring. Growing from sticks is not a quick process to a blooming business but it is very rewarding and quite a bit less expensive.
